There’s a Norwegian Cruise Line that’s giving back to teachers but giving away free cruises.
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up in May, and the cruise line is asking for nominations of teachers who have ‘spread the joy of learning’ through their teaching.
Until April 12, 2019, if you’re based in Canada or the U.S., you can nominate your favorite teacher to win a free cruise. The Norwegian Joy is the cruise up for grabs – and you can even nominate yourself if you’re a teacher.
Once a teacher has been nominated, anyone can vote for them. Once all submissions have been collected by April 12, 15 teachers will be chosen to go through to the finals.
Teachers have the chance to win a cruise for two lasting for seven days with accommodation and their airfare paid for. They also have the opportunity to win $15,000 for the school that they teach at.
It’s an excellent way for a teacher to get a well-deserved break and the school to benefit as well.
Andy Stuart, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line considers traveling a powerful means of education. He says that it helps bring diverse cultures and communities together all around the world.
He continues by explaining that the Norwegian Cruise Line Joy campaign was created to celebrate the power of travel and education. It also aims at rewarding teachers who have taken on the responsibility of nurturing the world’s future through learning – the children.
Visit the Norwegian Cruise Line website and nominate your favorite teacher.
