The more important thing than travel is passport! People could travel as many places as they can if the passport they are holding is the World’s best Passport for travel entry globally.
There are recent reports published in October 2018 which reveals the list of borders that travel documents can cross. According to Henley Passport Index, the most powerful passport in the world now is Japan because it recently got a visa-free access to Myanmar.
World’s Best Passport
A total of 190 destinations around the world with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access made Japan on the top spot. Second place is Singapore with 189 destinations. Germany began 2018 on the top list but now it’s on third place with 188 destinations and tied with South Korea and France.
The Henley Passport Index is based on the data given by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and it covers 199 travel documents and 227 travel destinations. It is updated yearly and when there are changes in the visa policy.
On the other hand, the Nomad Passport Index ranks the 199 citizenships based on five factors such as: international taxation, visa-free travel, dual citizenship, perception and personal freedom.
In 2017, the most desirable passport was from Sweden followed by Belgium on the second place. While Spain and Italy were tied in the third place. But in 2018, an asian country got the top list as the most powerful passport and it is Japan!
